How has the digital world changed the way we consume and create TV?

technology is always and constantly changing and evolving to make it easier faster and more assessable for people to view and create content. through media portals such as youtube blogger and facebook we can upload and share TV clips reviews on films on our own creative content that we have made, this new found technology and freedom has given the smallest of voices and budget, a light from which they can share with the world there media they have created.

One of the most used website online at the moment is youtube, this website easily gets half a billion views every week, through this site people create and share content they have created using anything from a £50 hand-held camera up to professional slandered commercials created by high end company's such as Coca Cola and Nike. youtube has also become a place where people get together and start to create more then just skit commercials or one off vlogs, they have now started to create daily shows for people to watch stared up dramas and news shows allowing a world wide audience to come and enjoy there content. A few of the most watched shows are SxePhils news show in which he covers news story topics and random facts, another is black box TV which creates short story dramas on a weekly/monthly basis, other people such as raywilliamjohnson and ijustine post tec reviews vlogs news shows and funny videos, in its self creating there own tv channel with an on demand style service where the viewer can chooses to watch the content if the so wish to.

another way that we a a generation consume TV and media its self is through smart phones/iphones and web tablet style devices, this allows us to stream/download TV content directly to our device and the consume the media in our own time while on a train/bus/taxi ect. this allows us to be able to keep more in touch the the media and the world around us and also means that we as a generation and share and give feedback on TV programs news storeys ect in an easier and simpler way, this allows TV company’s and corporations to be able to aim programs story and channels at selective target audiences to make sure that they can make the most amount of money

Every day we as a country are introduced to more ways of consuming TV, yet still for a few hours of each day we sit down in front of a conventional television and watch. while this is the oldest and most common way to watch and consume TV programs it has changed a lot for the original TV that was developed in the early 30s.

Firstly the way we receive TV is changing as we speak, slowly the old analogue signals and being switched off and we are changing over to digital, this allows more channels to be sent through one signal allowing for more content and grater variety for us as consumers, next is the on demand and internet series that are being introduced, this allows us the consumer to watch TV on demand and not be scheduled the TV channels and programs we want to watch. it also means we can download programs we wish to watch but cannot view at that time and the watch them at a later date just like recording on to a VHS tape but with a lot less hassle and stress and you can do it at the press of just one button, with options to link it and with out having to change  tapes.

Creating TV has also become a lot easier over the years. with the introduction of a pc in nearly every home as well as the low costs in software and cameras you can start creating and publishing programs you have created for £200-300 which is a lot less then that of the few million that company’s such as the BBC spend on some of there programs, and at not that greater quality.

With the introduction of this also being taught in schools colleges and university the way we consume and create the TV we and billions of others around the world watch everyday is forever chaging and adapting to suit the latest technology and trends that are forever changing around the world
